YARMOUTH (WGME) - If you drive through Yarmouth Saturday, you probably saw the dozens of artists painting landscapes around town.

This weekend was the peak of the third annual Plein Air Art Festivalin.

Arts and Craft shows along with a marketplace were set up in the center of town, with opportunities to take classes and lessons on different forms of painting outdoors.

The festival encourages creating in an outdoor environment which organizers are hoping to help others take part.

“It’s a magical combination to get outside and make art," said Catherine Bickford. "People are really drawn to it. Especially in Maine in August. You get outside and you feel better immediately and then when you start creating it’s kind of a double dose of endorphins.”
